In 2009, the men in the church choirs of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum and Fifth
Avenue United Methodist Church in West Bend joined together for a series of anthems that
they sang for each other’s church services. They enjoyed their fellowship so much that in 2011
men from other area churches were invited to join and a choir was formed. In the early years,
performances were organized for the Community Church Choir Concert and KEYS Scholarship
Concert in the Kewaskum Theater. In December 2015 the EcuMen had five concerts in the area
and sang at five church services during one busy Sunday morning.
At the present time, ten West Bend and Kewaskum area churches are represented by the
twenty-four person group. A series of concerts with sacred and secular music is held in
August, as well as a Christmas program in December. The EcuMen also sing at Saturday night
and Sunday morning church services in August and December.
The choir is led by Dave Bertelsen.
Terry Christie is the accompanist.
All men are welcome to join. There is no audition.
